New! Amy Butler Laminated Cotton!
About a month ago, I saw the new Amy Butler fabric line, called Love--it was featured on True Up. I fell in LOVE right away. The photo of the Love Raincoat made me melt, it's to die for, right? Along with all the regular cotton fabrics, they now have a 100% Cotton that is Laminated. Yes, that's right we are talking oilcloth people. This isn't your Grandma's oilcloth or our beloved Mexican Oilcloth, it's a more supple oilcloth, and it gathers and drapes like a dream! Did I mention that it feels like butter?
Shortly after learning about the new line I was contacted by Amy Butler Designs, asking if they could use our Oilcloth Addict tips for promoting their new oilcloth. You know I said "Yes." What an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious company. Ever since, I have been aching to get some Love for the shop.
What pleases me the most, is that this laminated cotton is PUL, which means it is PVC free!!! I am so happy that my shipment of the first printing has arrived. I look forward to making lots of goodies to share with you all here on Oilcloth Addict.
In honor of our new arrival, I say we give a half yard of this wonderful fabric away for our Monday Madness contest. Let us know, by leaving a comment, which you like best: Trumpet Flowers / Emerald, or Paradise Garden / Mint. Good luck my lovely oilcloth addicts!
XOXOX, Kelly

love the trumpet flowers!
Paradis Garden/Mint by far is my favorite. I just love the cotton line and her free pattern for the hexagon quilt. I would so LOVE a half yard. I can see a new checkbook cover or maybe a notebook cover or some rubber gloves (housework in style yippee). With a half yard, I might just be able to do all three. Thanks for the great giveaway!!!!
Love the color purple, but the pattern on the Paradise Garden is awesome, so have to go with that one!!!
i am loving them both but i think Paradise Garden / Mint is coming out front.
It's a tough call, but I think Paradise Garden is what I like best.
I *heart* the Paradise Garden/Mint. It would make a lovely rain hat, don't you think?
What beautiful cloth and so fun to use I bet! Paradise Garden Mint is my favorite.
I'm partial to the trumpet flowers/emerald. Can you embroider on laminated or oilcloth fabric?
Michelle,
You can definitely embroider on the Mexican Oilcloth, and I assume you can with this too! It isn't flimsy, it has a nice hand to it.
Trisha, what great ideas!!!
I tell you guys, the pics don't do it justice! It is lovely!
Oooh! Thanks for the giveaway! What gorgeous fabric! I love both but Paradise Garden/Mint it is!
I prefer the Paradis Garden/Mint cuz I am crazy for green these days!!!
Love the trumpet flowers they are beautiful!
I think the mint is my favorite, though they are both gorgeous!
I can tell why you are in love, it's beautiful!!! I love them both, but if I have to choose, I think I would have to choose the Paradise Garden..
Oh the possibilities of what could be done!!
Paradise Garden/Mint. Mmmm!

I Love Amy Butler, how exciting! I love them both but I think I like the Paradise Garden- Mint one a tiny bit more. This would make some great makeup bags, a tote, or diaper bag, or really so many other great things.
Paradise Garden/mint, it's got to be... I'm thinking a little make-up bag for each of my big girls for Christmas surprises :) and I can't wait to see what marvelous things you do with this fabric, Kelly!!
Happy Day!
I love Amy Butler as it is, but oil cloth! Me-oh-my!! The trumpet flowers are wonderful
The Paradise Garden/ Mint is my favorite. This fabric is SOOOO cool.

Oooooo! oooooo! Trumpet flowers! So georgous!
Beautiful...!!! I'm going to get some of this for sure.. I especially love the trumpet flowers/emerald - bold and colourful.
And thank you for the awesome giveaway..!
Oh, I love these prints! I've actually been wanting to make a raincoat myself and may have to get some of this for it. I especially like the Paradise Garden Mint.
An awfully hard choice but I'm going with the Paradise Garden Mint.
Wow. I love the Paradise Garden Mint colorway...just so sweet.
just love them both but as I've just ordered the trumpet flowers from your shop it will have to be Paradise Garden Dawnx
I like the Trumpet Flowers color better! Is this like the Anna Maria laminated cotton? I want some desperately!!!! Will you be getting all of the colors?
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh! I love them both but if you made me choose I'd say Paradise Garden. Thanks for the opportunity. :)

Paradise Gardens is perfectly named with its sleepy colors.
I love the mint too. Would the large pattern translate well into small items like cosmetic bags?
Hi Matha
Great question. The print is large, so large that the pattern would appear rather abstract on something that small. Pretty but abstract!
oh I was hoping I wouldn't miss this. I too LOVE the Love line from Amy Butler and how cool to be asked!! I love the Trumpet Flowers!!!
We have a winner..... LINDA from Shreveport is our winner this week. See you all next week for another great giveaway and a Christmas tutorial!
thanks everyone!
Love the trumpet flowers!! Just gorgeous! I can't wait to sew some!
wow. how exciting! i love her designs. the trumpet flowers are awesome. so many gorgeous colors.
thanks for posting this information. i can't wait to make some cool seat covers for my daughter's play table.
what pattern was used for the Love Raincoat. I'm having a hard time finding something suitable (simple w/ few seams)
def the trumpet flowers/emerald! Gorgeous!! I'd love to try some of this out!
I have one of Amy Butlers Laminated fabrics. I plan to make a bag, but really want to embroider my daughters name on it. Any suggestions on what type of stabilizer or needle?
Hello,
I am sorry I don't know the first thing about machine embroidery. But! What about a vinyl sticker?
Karen at http://www.lilybella.com/index.php?cPath=90 puts her vinyl monograms onto her oilcloth all the time.
I pretty sure it would be just as great on laminated cotton.
thanks for asking!!
