Travel Time: Laminated Cotton Garment Bags

 

Look what I found on Pinterest today? A lovely laminate garment bag pattern, that is perfect for summer vacation season!! 

To my pleasent surprise it's from one of my Quilt Market cocktail party buddies. Melissa from 100 Billion Stars made the prettiest garment bags and shared her tutorial with us all. She used Jennifer Paganelli's pretty Sis Boom laminated cotton. The midnight blue fabric is a print called Eloise 

the contrasting print is called Candice. (I can't wait to make one for myself!!)

Great Idea! Oilcloth Pencil Case

I found this nice little tutorial for a zipped up pencil case on the Momtastic blog, what a nice way to use up all those oilcloth scraps. What, you don't have any? Don't fret we sell fat quarters of oilcloth and they are great for learning how to work with oilcloth and small projects! But be careful, you'll get addicted to oilcloth!

Great idea, Oilcloth Grocery Bags

Now you can get these over at Modern June or if you are crafty and good with a sewing machine you can whip up some for your self using this great tutorial I found at Examiner.com (via the Minneapolis Homemade Living Examiner). We might have to get that fun oilcloth with the oranges on it, it reminds me summer vacations in San Diego.

Great Idea, Coupon Clutch

Isn't this cool? This coupon clutch from The Object Project, would be fun in oilcloth!

I love making flowers appliques out of oilcloth, I have made flower appliques with dots and gingham, but I also love taking a flower from one of the floral prints. A poppy from the Yellow Poppy oilcloth or the big turquoise blossom from Istanbul oilcloth is also very fun. Just cut out your flower and use on all kinds of projects.

This project would be a perfect use for the Four Fat Lil' Quarters of oilcloth!
