Scrap Pack Monday!

OK, friends... I'm really going to give this a good try! I figure that if I can make and list 4-5 scrap packs a week I think I can get my studio destashed!! Wanna help?

This week I have 3 scrap packs with chalk cloth tags in mind! Grab them up while the grabbing is good! Each pack has over 1 pound of fabric scraps.
I have two free tutorials for chalk cloth tags here and here! I also have a very pretty flower tag in my Sewing with Oilcloth book!
I also have this BIG lot of oilcloth goodness here. It's 2 1/2 pounds of scraps from medium in size to tiny!! You could make some super cute mini banners with this pack!! I feel a tutorial coming one...

Crazy Oilcloth Rag Rug!

Let me preface this post with this disclaimer!  I am crazy busy with Modern June and a bit loopy for it.  I'm not complaining about the mountain  of orders both retail and wholesale -- especially this day and age -- I am just very tired.  On Saturday I as I was cutting down 98 oilcloth placemats to size I couldn't help but see a project in the scraps on the floor.  So I started a rag rug.  I know it is goofy, right?

I think this would be great by the back door, out on the porch.  Totally weather-proof, and I feel better about my local land fill!  For directions Check out this list of links on Craft Gossip!   Now that I see how it is really done I will start over, my first attempt is so messy!

If you want to join me in Crazy-Rag-Rug-Land I am sure I can hook you up with some stripy scraps!

Use what you have!

Use what you have!, originally uploaded by ModernJune.

Use what you have? OK! What I have are scraps of oilcloth--lots and lots of scraps.

The other day I needed a birthday sign for my cute Hubby's birthday, so I grabbed a handful of oilcloth scraps and I cut this sign. I just taped it straight to the wall, but I recommend you use that gummy non-marking stick-up stuff.

While I was making my masterpiece I realized that I had something fun going on! I started thinking about charm packs, the ones that I admire at the quilt shop and I how great it would be to have an oilcloth charm pack. But instead of 5 inch squares, I think that 4x6 inch rectangles will be best for the OILCLOTH ADDICT charm pack (better for letters at least).

When I made mine, I just cut it right out, willy-nilly, cuz I am like that. But, you can print out your saying in your favorite font, trace it onto the back and get cutting. Go to town, the possibilities are endless. Please remember when marking your letters on the wrong side of the oilcloth you need reverse your letters.

So go ahead, get to it... be creative today!
